The support provided by hospice care extends beyond the death of a patient. Our bereavement program offers ongoing support to the deceased's family members.
We acknowledge that grief is profoundly personal and varies with each loss and individual. The manifestation of grief is unpredictable; it can arise in various forms and at different times for everyone. There is no universally "correct" manner to navigate through grief, nor is there a set duration for the grieving process. Our approach is not to judge or prescribe how one should grieve. Rather, we serve as supportive companions on the journey through grief, offering guidance and understanding every step of the way.
Our bereavement services aim to offer assistance to the families of our patients, understanding that "family" encompasses more than just biological relations or marital partners. Recognizing the diverse nature of family structures, we inquire directly with our patients about their chosen circle of close individuals, asking them to identify those they consider family and close friends. By asking, "who matters most to you?" we ensure that our support is extended to those deemed significant by the patient.
